Inflatable Kingdom; "Party on the Red Carpet!"

Planning a Pizza Party for the Kids Sports Team

Are you a coach or team parent who is planning a pizza party for the kids sports team this year? If so, you may have no idea where to begin in your planning task. Pizza parties are a great way to boost team morale, celebrate the end of the season or gather the players together for an after-game celebration.

Traditionally, pizza is a favorite snack in the world of kids and the idea of a pizza party is always highly welcomed by children of all ages. When planning this year’s pizza party, use these simple tips to help you quickly and effortlessly organize a fun and delicious event.

Choosing Your Pizza Party Location

Planning a pizza party for the kids sports team begins with choosing a location. Is there a local pizza place near the ballpark the team practices at each week? If not, you may want to expand your search to other local venues. While pizza parlors would obviously be an easy choice for your team pizza party, they may not be large enough to host the team and their family members.

So, think ahead and consider calling other venues in the area if you’re expecting a large outcome. Book a venue and just order pizza to be delivered there. If you want to go all-out and host an incredible pizza party, consider picking a venue with other activities for the children, such as games or giant inflatables.

Send Out Invites

It’s a great idea to remind parents to “save the date” for the team pizza party a few months ahead of schedule. Parents with children involved in sports often find their schedules to be booked for months at a time. So, send home flyers with the players a few months in advance or hand them out to parents at the games.

Then, a few weeks before the actual event put in a call to each parent, reminding them of the pizza party date and time. If you plan the party to occur during a normal practice time or after a game, you may find your attendance rate will improve. After all, the parents are already accustomed to blocking off that time for sporting fun.

Consider The Menu

Before ordering pizza for the party, it’s important to get a rough estimate of what types the players enjoy. Most children love cheese pizza or pepperoni pizza. However, it’s important for you to consider any children with special dietary needs.

Ask parents if there are any children with allergies on the team and choose not to order anything that may affect an allergic child in a negative way. Also, think about religious children and forgo ordering certain meats (often pork) some players are offended by eating. By
getting a rough count of “who likes what”, you can effectively and efficiently order the correct pizzas for the fun event.
