Cannon Beach Attractions & Activities

There is always something to do in Cannon Beach and the surrounding areas. Nature lovers will enjoy the beaches, wildlife, tide pools and other natural attractions the area has to offer.

Ecola State Park
Just two miles from Cannon Beach, the park offers breathtaking views of the Oregon Coast. Day use fee applies. The park offers hiking, picnicking, and beaches and tide-pools to explore

Haystack Rock & Other Natural Attractions
Haystack rock is perhaps the most famous attraction at Cannon Beach. At low tide, visitors can explore the tide pools and sea life at the rock’s base. The Hug Point Recreation Site is 5 miles south of Cannon Beach and includes caves carved by the ocean and a waterfall along with beaches. Several more beaches are close to Cannon Beach including Arcadia, Indian and Crescent Beach.

Cannon Beach History Center & Museum
Hours: 1 – 5 pm, Wednesdays through Sundays
Explore Cannon Beach’s rich history with interactive permanent and revolving exhibits including a Native American longhouse; ships early encounters with the treacherous shoreline; steamboat, train and stagecoach rides; World War II effects on the Cannon Beach community; and the Tsumami of 1964.

Sea Ranch Stables
Guided horseback riding on the beach and around the Cannon Beach area. Walk-ins welcome on a space available basis for some rides. Reservations must be made in person at the stable.

Seasonal Events
Cannon Beach has all sorts of events that are fun for the whole family including Sandcastle Day where visitors and locals of all ages come to the beach to make sandcastles or view the extraordinary creations of some of the artists in the sand.
