Day Trips
Need a family vacation, but just have a day or two to fit it in? No problem! There are lots of great trips that Portlanders can take with just a short drive. Here are some great day (and overnight) trips and some activities to enjoy along the way.
Cannon Beach
Enjoy views of Haystack Rock while gathering seashells and making sandcastles on the beach. Town is full of great shopping, galleries and restaurants and outdoor lovers can enjoy nearby Ecola State Park.
Hood River Fruit Loop
Drive through orchards, forests and farmlands with stops at u-pick orchards and gardens, farm stores, and more. Great seasonal activities and events for families at many of the stops.
Multnomah Falls & the Historic Columbia River Highway
A gorgeous scenic drive with views of stunning waterfalls and the Columbia River. Hike up the falls on one of many available trails.
Sauvie Island
Fruit stands, great beaches and a large wildlife area. Come in the fall for Corn Mazes, Pumpkin Patches and more great family entertainment.
Seaside
Family friendly beach getaway located close to Portland with great shopping, loads of family entertainment and a beautiful beach to play on.
