At some time, every parent hears their children say those two words. So what can kids do in Portland? Plenty! Before you turn on the TV or pop in a movie, consider some of these fun things to do with kids in Portland…

Read a book.
Multnomah County Library has a huge selection of books for children of all ages and adults too. They also have magazines, audio-books, movies, and music. Users can place a hold on the library’s web-site and pick up and return books at whichever branch is most convenient. The library also has lots of events and activities including weekly story-times.   Best of all, most of the library’s services are FREE!

Visit a Museum.
There are lots of fun and interesting museums in Portland and the surrounding area. OMSI, the Oregon museum of Science and Industry has great educational and fun hands on exhibits and activities for children and adults. The Portland Children’s Museum is another family favorite, with loads of activities to keep kids entertained. The Portland Art Museum caters to families with special family events including family tours and art activities.

Go to the Zoo.
Portland is home to the Oregon Zoo a phenomenal zoo and a great place to entertain the family. Along with visiting the animals, the zoo has educational and fun talks, activities, and events.

Get Out and Play.
