Growing up, my parents would not let us have a trampoline. They considered it, but decided trampolines were too dangerous. So every time my siblings and I visited a friend or relative who was lucky enough to have a trampoline, we were sure to jump on it. What glorious fun it was to jump up and down on a trampoline, the sensation of weightlessness and flying through the air. Then afterwards, I would hop on the ground and feel like I weighed a thousand pounds.

Now I am older, and I have a child of my own. He can’t walk yet, but he already likes to bounce up and down while we hold him.
