Whether you are just getting started or looking to put the finishing touches on your big event, you should enter the occasion with all your T’s crossed and every I dotted. Take the guesswork out of planning your special occasion by reading the following list of helpful tips.

They may help with ideas, so the process of planning your next shindig is both fun and easy.

These tips are designed help you get further organized as you prepare for your next party, though these particular points of advice focus only on birthday parties or corporate events, the suggestions can of course be applied to any type of gathering.

When planning a birthday:

Birthday parties can be some of the most enjoyable events of all because there aren’t as many hard-set rules. Of course when you are planning one of the “big” birthdays (i.e. 21, 30, 40, 50…), things are different. On those occasions the focus should be on the guest of honor’s

favorite things. If dad’s favorite treat is a chocolate chip cookie, then your party favors could be small, individual cookies, placed in tiny little boxes.

Another type of birthday party that is sure to equal tons of fun is the classic surprise party. Make sure to incorporate as much of the guest of honor’s style as possible into the planning of the party. Even though they have not thrown the party for themselves, it should be obvious that it’s a celebration of what it is that makes them unique.

Corporate Events

Corporate Events can be interesting to plan, but nearly all corporate events face the same issue – budget! Committing to a budget is both the first and most important thing you must do. It is easy to stray from this topic, but you must settle on an amount before starting with the rest. Having a budget will give you a ceiling to work from. You cannot start to hire vendors and make more specific choices until you know what you have to work with.

Once you have a budget you can begin to make lists of what you would like to see in your party. The more clear you are with your own needs ahead of time, the easier you will find it to communicate it to the respective vendors (i.e. florists, caterers, etc.).

Once you have analyzed your needs, search for the vendors that will do the best job for the most reasonable price. It’s okay to interview several. Remember, the better job they do, the better you look.

Planning a party can be a lot of fun, just make sure you plan well and have the best party rentals in Portland Oregon.
