Inflatable Kingdom; "Party on the Red Carpet!"

Super Kids Resale

April 11, 2010

Kids grow so fast. Seems like only yesterday, I was out shopping for a newborn. Alex is 7 months old now the size 3-6 clothes are just getting too small. It’s time for him to start wearing the 6-9’s. On top of that, I am considering getting him a walker, but the price on the new one I like seems a bit exorbitant since he will only use it for a few months. Considering how much new items can cost and how short an amount of time children actually get use them, children’s consignment sales are a great place to purchase and sell children’s merchandise.

I decided to go check out the Super Kid’s Resale in Gresham today to see if I could find any great items for Alex. The sale had been going on since Friday, so it was pretty picked over by the time I got there. Like any consignment sale, the best selection is at the beginning of the sale. The good news was that since it was the last day of the sale, many items were half off, making them even better deals. Unfortunately I did not manage to find a walker, so I might still be buying it new, but I did find a fun baseball toy with a plastic bat that ended up costing me $2.50. Not bad for a toy that costs nearly $20 new.

Entertainment for children was also offered at the sale. There was a reptile exhibit from Hart’s Reptile World that I brought Alex to see. He was too drowsy to fully appreciate it having just woke up from a nap, but the reptiles were cool. A face painter was painting faces. A bus was parked outside with X-Box games. There were many more activities earlier in the weekend.

There was suppose to be a purple castle jump house available for the kids to play on for a small fee, though I did not see it. Kids have lots of fun in jump houses at events like this one, but there is no need to limit their enjoyment to just a few scattered events. Inflatable Kingdom offers Open Play sessions with jump houses and other inflatable toys every week for is just $5.

I ended up just spending $4.50 at the sale. I got the toy for Alex and some cookies for myself. Alex had fun. He always enjoys getting out of the house for a bit, even if he did sleep during half of our excursion.

The Super Kids Sale ends today (April 11) at 3:00. Next weekend there are two consignment sales to choose from. Pass it On is in Portland, April 16-19 (they have another sale May 20-23 in Hillsboro). Ever After Resale is in Tigard, April 17, 9 am – 3 pm. Check our Kid’s Calendar to keep up to date on future consignment sales and other children’s events.
