Inflatable Kingdom; "Party on the Red Carpet!"

Reindeer Magic at Dennis’ 7 Dees

Dec 4, 2010

The Holidays are here again, and we have been trying to figure out what to put on the front of our Christmas Card. Last year we got photos with Santa, and boy were they cute. This year I wanted something different, but still full of the Holiday Spirit.

On Saturday, we went to Reindeer Magic at Dennis’ 7 Dees Nursery on SE Powell. While we were not actually in the market for any plants, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get some Christmas photos, so we bundled up and went to meet Santa’s reindeer.

Dennis’ 7 Dees on SE Powell is a really large nursery. The reindeer were in a pen pretty close to the entrance, so we checked them out first and snapped some photos. I was a little disappointed in the set up since it was not conducive for the images I had imagined in my head. However, it was really cool to get to see the reindeer up close and by sticking my camera lens between the cage wires, I got some nice photos to work with in Photoshop.

After visiting the reindeer, we browsed the nursery and got photos with the trees. The nursery has all sorts of Christmas trees, gorgeous wreaths, and greens for those who prefer to make their own Holiday decorations. Inside, there is also a selection of nutcrackers and other Holiday decorations. To top things off, the nursery supplied free cookies and hot apple cider. It was really a wonderful free family event.

There is also a darling elevated playhouse in the nursery for the kids to climb on. While it is not nearly as elaborate as the play equipment at Inflatable Kingdom, the kids all had fun climbing up to the platform and peering down at the pond below.

We had a great time browsing the nursery, though I did not actually buy anything this time. My horse is on a tree farm, and I already made a wreath, so I was not really in the market for Holiday decorations. I did, however, give my husband some Christmas ideas, and I am certain we will be back in the Spring when the weather is more conducive to working in the yard.

The reindeer will be visiting Dennis’ 7 Dees in Lake Oswego from 10 am to 5 pm on December 10 and Dennis’ 7 Dees in Cedar Hills from 10 am to 5 pm on December 11.
