It’s nearly Christmastime again, and it is time to pick out a tree. Before you even think about putting up an artificial tree, consider what you will be missing- one great part of the annual holiday experience is finding the perfect tree. Here in Oregon, we are lucky. With so many tree growers around, we have lots of choices at more than reasonable prices. Trees that would sell for hundreds of dollars elsewhere sell for twenty or thirty bucks. Plus if you go to a tree farm to pick out your Christmas tree, many of them offer cookies and cocoa. Bundle up yourself and bring the kids and walk around until you find the tree you want. Picking out a Christmas tree is a great family activity. When you buy a local Christmas tree, you can feel good that you are supporting the local economy. Real trees smell good too. So unless you have allergies that prevent you from having a real Christmas tree in the house, do you really want a plastic tree?
